The Story Behind LetsPlayHistory.org
LetsPlayHistory.org, or LPH for short, is a Mom-and-Pop project aimed at providing the first American online social network and resource hub for history enthusiasts. The concept was first conceived in 2005, with numerous attempts at website development in the four years that followed.
When proprietors David and Carrie Franzwa first set out to create LPH, they were a bit too early for sophisticated blog customization, as blog flexibility had not yet come into its own. Even website software for self-post event calendars allowing for unlimited users, and state-by-state setup – a key component of the LPH vision – had not yet been successfully created for the marketplace.
Between 2005 and 2010, a lot of time, talent, money …and hair pulling… was invested by the Franzwas in trying to create the illusive LPH system.
Between website development efforts and disappointments, Carrie did manage to keep momentum going forward by writing a hand full of living history related titles. The hope remains that her books might eventually fund the additional manpower needed for LPH growth and expansion, and fund the expert website development assistance needed to realize the LPH Community dream.

About David and Carrie Franzwa

Dave and Carrie Franzwa, Silver Wedding Anniversary,

.
As you can imagine, LetsPlayHistory.org proprietors, Dave and Carrie Franzwa, are still very young at heart even though the wisdom of age “fast approacheth.”
The Franzwas successfully home-schooled three biological children, and for a short time, two non-biological children who later became part of the family. All five children are currently in college, either full or part time, with Dave and Carrie becoming official empty-nesters in September of 2009.
Dave is the poet, comedian, and self-taught tech man, while Carrie is the visual artist, activist, and whip-cracker (rrr, uh, “the organizer”
).
The couple reside in the small town of Lebanon, Oregon, and have enjoyed the challenge of slowly restoring their 1946 cape cod fixer-upper. They also enjoy antiquing, genealogy, classic movies and radio, classic cars, living history, horses, and camping.
